So ketogenesis is the process of creating ketone bodies and mitochondria of liver cells. So that’s where the magic happens primarily. So we are in the mitochondria of liver cells and that’s where ketogenesis occurs… we have three main ketone bodies out of which one is technically not a ketone. So we have Beta hydroxybutyrate, acetoacetate and acetone. Beta hydroxybutyrate is technically not a ketone. It’s a carboxylic acid.

Who is Cristi Vlad?

Cristi Vlad holds a master’s degree in civil engineering. He’s self-taught in genomics, nutrition and biochemistry, machine learning, bioinformatics, cybersecurity and rational thinking.

Cristi is the author of seven books including Ketone Power and Periodic Fasting.

Cristi Vlad’s utilizes the scientific method in his approach to experiments to limit logical fallacies and remove cognitive bias. He favors science-based medicine, which is actually different from evidence-based medicine.

In research, Cristi looks for good evidence and solid arguments to support an ever-changing world view and opinion. This method leaves him thinking fluid and flexible instead of fixed and self-limiting.

What is a Ketone?
